ALION WATCHED THE rain dance along the leaves and slide down the trunks of the elm. They were having a merry time of it, while he was stuck inside.
Turning around on his chair, he scowled at the mess of gears and wheels, impishly smirking up at him and resisting any attempt at cohesion. Their coils flicked metallic tongues at him, willfully petulant and enjoying themselves as thoroughly as the rain.
He bit his lip and scooted closer, pliers in hand.
