Sea Mist [Day 22]

MIST CURLED AROUND the black outline of rocks; the invisible surf hissed against the craggy shore. Faint beads of moisture glistened in the deep grooves, while the sea salt hung in the air. One could taste it on the tongue at every breath one took.

Stepping carefully over the slippery rocks, she scrambled down to the shore. The great rhythmic breath of the sea had summoned her out of her dreams, it’s familiar tide a more soothing lullaby than any silly music box her family got her.

She stood on the rocky shore and let the sea spray kiss her lips. The white woolly mist sheltered her from view; she would be safe here. For a time, at least.
