Day 142: Loneliness in the Marsh

MOONLIGHT GLISTENED OVER the waves. Silence hummed in the hills. Only the croak of a late night heron gulping down a frog could be heard. Tall reeds stood straight as sticks of silver, while salt water rushed around them; the slim toes of mangroves crouched over the incoming tide.

He stared out across the sea. Heaviness waylaid his heart, a grey melancholy. His search seemed to be taking forever. And as he searched for her, the world bloomed and thrived with richness. Even the marsh shone with a rich luster. Was there no where in the world that was not grateful to be alive?
