A BEAM OF sunshine happily greeted every flower it came across, giving them all warm hugs before flittering off to the next one. But one calyx was closed and refused to budge even for the merry exuberant sunbeam: the lotus. Frustrated, the sunbeam shone as hard as it could, but to no avail. And it would have kept at it, if the neighboring roses had not told it the lotus only opens at night. Well then! declared the sunbeam, I will just have to wait until then.
